Invitation Letter for The Concept and Production of 17 Artworks

To whom it may concern,

We would like to invite international artists to create 17 artworks.

The 17 artworks shall be installed on 17 squares about 50m2 among Monaco Nghi Son’s site, which has been imagined to be a place to enjoy Art.

Please consult the site layout plan 1:500 scale. The artworks will occupy the locations with the mention in Vietnamese «Quảng trường»

1. Time line of the project

Candidates interested shall submit their applications before May 15 2018. From June 1, 2018 – November 15, 2018 divided into 2 phases:

Phase 1: Concept preparation and presentation of the proposal for the artworks: 6 weeks maximum.

Phase 2: Artwork production in Vietnam: 12 weeks maximum.

The artwoks shall be manufactured in Vietnam by the artists awarded or under their direction. All the necessary information such as workshops or sub-contractors shall be provided to the artists.

2. Subject

The artworks shall glorify the four elements of life: Earth, Water, Fire and Air/ Light.

- Artworks shall have a profond meaning spiritual or philosophical.

- Maximum height of art works : 3m.

- Shall be visually impressive the day and the night.

3. Budget

The 17 artworks will be divided into 4 packages as follows :

- Earth Package : includes 5 artworks with a maximum budget of $350,000.

- Water Package: includes 5 artworks with a maximum budget of $350,000.

- Fire Package : includes 4 artworks with maximum budget of $280,000.

- Air/ Light Package : includes 3 artworks with a maximum budget of $210,000.

The artists shall not exceed the maximum budget allowed for each package. Besides that budget, the candidates awarded will receive $5,000 to cover their travel expenses. Other expenses such as food and accommodation, during the 3-5 weeks in Monaco Nghi Son, shall be covered by the investor.

4. Documents to submit

The artists interested in participating shall submit as follows:

- Motivation letter (1 page maximum, Attention: THO Nguyen Duc).

- CV mentioning artworks produced, exhibitions the artist joined, reference of artbook published.

- Artistic potfolio with the details of the Artworks (materials, dimension, comments).

Note that uncomplete applications shall not be accepted.
